In our department at CH2M Hanford, we have several senior level contract specialists who will be retiring in the next 6 months. At the moment plans are to backfill at least one of the positions.

We will be seeking a senior level 10+ years contract specialist.
Work involves complex service and/or construction contract placement and administration.
Must have government contract experience with FAR, DEAR or DOD regs.
Must be able to handle the actions from cradle to grave including developing the proposed contract type, performing cost analysis, contract negotiations, contract preparation, contract administration and closeout.
Must have excellent computer, communication and writing skills.
It’s a high stress environment where individual contributors can excel.
Last year the ~30-person department placed over $800 mil in contract actions.

Capital Purchasing Agent
One of the world’s most recognized names in the metals business has an exciting opportunity at our Trentwood Works facility located in Spokane Valley, Washington. Trentwood Works is the largest flat-rolled-products mill in the Western United States. The facility has undergone a major expansion to meet growing customer demands.
Capital Purchasing Agent
This position reports to the Kaiser Production Systems (KPS) Capital Purchasing Manager, and is responsible for the daily activity associated with corporate wide capital project procurement. The purpose of the Capital Purchasing Agent is to oversee and ensure the use of standard purchasing practices for capital projects in North America. The Agent will support projects for purchasing specifications, contract language, negotiations, supplier management, cost tracking and expediting as the projects require.
Education, Job Skills and Experience
BS in Business or Technical Degree, with a minimum of 2 years purchasing experience preferred. Qualified candidates must have experience with purchasing expediting, contracting, and cost tracking. Other necessary skills include demonstrated leadership and superior analytical skills with mechanical aptitude being a plus, exceptional oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and a leader in continuous improvement. Candidates must have demonstrated success in a collaborative team environment along with highly skilled in data analysis, manipulation, and presentation to include successful utilization of computerized systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access.
